PURPOSE:To attain easy supply and control of ink without using a pressure device and a control valve by using the capillary effect of a connecting pipe and an ink channel inside of a nozzle head in supplying the ink from an ink tank to the nozzle head. CONSTITUTION:The ink 4 stored in an ink tank 5 provided at the lower level than the horizontal height of a nozzle head 1 is supplied to the nozzle head 1 through a pipe 6 by the capillary effect and filled from an ink-supplying orifice 19 into a common ink chamber 18, a fluid diode 17, an ink chamber 15 and then a nozzle orifice 16. In this case, the depth of the ink channel in the nozzle head 1, the inside diameter of the pipe 6 and the difference in height between the ink tank 5 and the nozzle head are selected in accordance with the formula (where T is the surface tension of the liquid rho the density of the liquid, g the gravitational acceleration, theta the angle of contact of the liquid with a plate, L the length of the plate in the direction of depth, and t the depth of the ink channel). |
