<p>Plastic rubing, of any section with stiffening ribs, is bent in a machine with a fixed curved block and a pressure device to produce the required radius of curvature by bending the tubing against that block. The latter device has two shaping members which are moved under pressure at right angles to the tubing, their mounting allowing them to move apart proportionally to the applied pressure/fixed block curvature. They are fixed to a tension system however, which oppose their movements apart and keeps them pressing normally against the tubing. No undesirable effects, simple design machine, uniform deformation pressure, partic. suitable for bending e.g. window and door frames.</p> |
