<p>This mortising machine having three cutting tools (6, 7, 8) comprises a fixed working table (2) on which the piece of wood (4) to be mortised can be fixed, and a movable head (5) capable of being displaced horizontally, perpendicularly to the working table (2), the said movable head (5) itself being equipped with a central knife (6) oscillating so as to cut out the mortise, and with two lateral knives (7, 8) with a reciprocating rectilinear movement so as to cut and level the side walls of the mortise. The operating box (18) is arranged so that its centre of gravity is at a level very close to that of the horizontal plane Y'-Y in which the knives 6 to 8 work. In this way, the tendency of the tools (6, 7, 8) to chatter and the difficulty of penetrating the wood (4) are prevented. <IMAGE></p> |
