The present invention relates to a pressure regulator for a compressor, which is to prevent a discharge chamber from being at an abnormally high pressure, comprising: a cylinder block with a plurality of cylinder bores; a front housing combined with the front side of the cylinder block to form a crank chamber; and a rear housing combined with the rear side of the cylinder block to form the discharge chamber and a suction chamber. The pressure regulator comprises: a discharge flow path connected to the discharge chamber; a suction flow path connected to the suction chamber; a connecting block comprising a connecting flow path to connect the discharge flow path and the suction flow path; a discharge line connected to the discharge flow path of the connecting block; a suction line connected to the suction flow path of the connecting block; and a pressure regulating valve installed on the connecting flow path to block the discharge flow path and the suction flow path when the pressure of the discharge flow path is the same as or lower than a set pressure and to connect the discharge flow path and the suction flow path when the pressure of the discharge flow path is the same as or higher than the set pressure. The present invention is to provide a pressure regulator for a compressor, which can let refrigerant and oil be discharged not to an engine compartment but to the suction line when the discharge chamber is at an abnormally high temperature, thereby solving problems on pollution of the engine compartment, a decrease in the durability of the compressor, and maintenance. |
