<p>A fuel oil filter to be fitted in the pipe line upstream of an oil burner for a boiler etc. The filter is of the type in which oil is passed through a filter element housed in a filter casing. The interior of the casing is now made bigger than the filter element and a heater is installed in the free space inside the casing. The heater is pref. an electrical heating cartridge with an adjustable, thermostatic control. Alternatively, the heater can be a heat exchanger coil supplied with bot water from the boiler. The oil supplied to the filter is pref. discharged into the lower part of the filter casing. Used for filtration of fuel oil for oil burners, partic for domestic central heating systems. By warming the oil its viscosity is reduced and the oil flows more easily. This means that a smaller burner nozzle dia. can be used with reduced delivery rate. Economy results from improved utilisation of the fuel oil.</p> |
