The beehive comprises a base, with integral entrances for the bees and locations for the sides. These sides are built up to the required height by means of hollow extruded sections (20), sliding together and supporting the roof. Each extruded section has twin longitudinal grooves (35,36) to accept the matching tongues (55,56) of the upper section. Posts (22) lock the sections together at each corner. The grooved face of each section has two break lines (37,38) on one side, at 90 degrees. These enable one side to be removed to provide a seating (29A) for the honeycomb frames (61).
