The adhesive binding machine is designed to bind sheet stacks using hot adhesive. It includes a carriage fitted with clamping devices which is moved over an adhesive application roller from an inserting station to a removal station along the length of the material being bound. In the carriage there is a clamping device. This is used to convey a first sheet stack to the adhesive application point and a second clamping device for the simultaneous moving of a second sheet stack to a roughening point.
