Roof beams, boarding and roof battens with watertight covering support clamped aluminium plates, are used in the roof structure of a building. Battens running from eaves to ridge, are covered by the plates, which are arched and are at an interval from the boarding. Ends of adjacent plates are bent and form-locked about a batten, and fixed on it with a series of clamping strip sections covered by a screening strip over the whole batten length. The roof is more effectively sealed from weather and condensation.
