An automatic steering control for a tractor has a sensor to follow the line of the furrow and operate the two steering brakes to keep the vehicle in line. The output from the sensor is applied directly to the two brake circuits as control pulses for a direct control. The system is simple and direct. It requires no complex servo circuits. The furrow sensor is coupled to two opposing hydraulic cylinders whose outputs are fed to slave cylinders operating directly on the two brake pedal rods.
