PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water entering from a joint surface between a lock up cover of an auxiliary lock mechanism and a lower case, with a simple structure, in an electric steering lock device equipped with the auxiliary lock mechanism.SOLUTION: An electric steering lock device for a vehicle is equipped with: a housing formed by a lower case 11 and a cover case; a steering lock mechanism stored in the inside of the housing; and an auxiliary lock mechanism which has a lock up plate assembled from an assembling hole 23 formed on the lower case 11. A lock up cover 50 for covering the assembling hole 23 is provided, and on a contact surface of the lock up cover 50 contacted with a peripheral surface of the assembling hole 23, a loop-shaped recessed portion 51 is formed. A clearance is partially formed between the lower case 11 and the lock up cover 50 to prevent the generation of a capillary phenomenon, thereby preventing the entry of water from a periphery of the lock up cover 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
