<p>The press comprises a fixed upper platen (2) and a lower platen (3) which can be moved by means of suitable hydraulic cylinders (4). Both plates are heated and the upper has a frame (6) underneath it to form an enclosed space (8). A flexible rubber bag (5) is a lso fixed to the upper platen and the moulded part (7) is placed on the lower platen. This latter is moved upwards, to close over the bag and form a seal against the frame. Heated compressed air is pumped into the bag, applying an even pressure over the moulded surface.</p> |
