<p>The slide valve fitting has a body block (11) incorporating intersecting perpendicular bores. The primary (A) takes the tapped feed, and the secondary (B) locates a manually actuable sliding obturator (12). Adaptor fittings (18, 19) screw into the feed inlet and outlet apertures respectively and thick walled sleeve seals (16, 17) interpose each fitting and an obturator flat (14, 15). The flats are normal to the feed axis and locate an offset bore (13). The seals are aligned with the offset bore to open the valve and vice versa. Stacked spring washers (20, 21) may maintain the seals against the flats, and a tapping may be made by winding a threaded boring tool through the fittings and the block.</p> |
