<p>Vertical cleaning brushes for a carwash are suspended at the ends of control arms (3) pivoted about axes which can be inclined w.r.t. the vertical to drive the brushes into the centre of the end faces of the vehicle, or to drive them apart. The cleaning of the ends of the vehicle are through the interaction of the tilt action of the brush support and the movement of the support portal. The tilt action alters when the brushes meet in the centre of one end face and allows the brushes to be moved apart. The control of the tilt action enables similar cleaning effect to be achieved on the front and rear faces independent of the direction of travel of the portal.</p> |
