The elastic clamping mechanism is for use between moving parts, such as fork bracket and lifting slide, of a forklift truck when travelling empty. It has two components (21, 22) movable in relation to each other and each on one of the parts (10, 12) to an actuator (15) fixed to one of the components and is activated when it moves into the position for travelling empty.
