Hollow vessels, such as hot water tanks or heat exchangers are coated on the inside with enamel by connecting the vessel to a riser in the tank contg. the enamel slip. The slip is displaced up the riser by applying compressed air to the tank. Any surplus slip can flow back to the tank through the riser when the pressure is removed. This is a simple method of ensuring a satisfactory and uniform enamel coating on hollow-vessels. The closed system prevents during out of the enamel slip and cleaning is needed only rarely. No pumps which are likely to wear are needed. |
