<p>A housing (1) which can be gripped in the hand has on its front side a display arrangement (2) for displaying the measured values numerically. The upper narrow side of the housing (1) is provided with a trough-shaped depression (8), in the bottom of which is arranged, in an opening (9), an electro-optical sensor, which forms a bearing surface for one finger of the hand gripping the housing (1). The sensor contains a light source and an electrical light receiver, which generates signals corresponding to the pulse beat detected in the finger. A switch arrangement accommodated in the housing (1) measures the length of the time interval lying between two successive pulse beats and outputs to the display arrangement (2) a measured value proportional to the reciprocal value. For instantaneously switching on the supply voltage, a separate press-button switch (6) is arranged on the housing (1), or the sensor is itself designed as a press button with switch contacts. The unit has a pocket format, requires only one hand for its operation, and displays the desired measured value in a very short time. <IMAGE></p> |
