PURPOSE:To improve the vibration resistance of the tablets themselves, eventually gas generator by packing the tablet- or granule form gas generating agents and cushion material composed of stainless steel fibers at the specific ratios in a chemical chamber. CONSTITUTION:Solid gas generating agents 1 formed to tablets or granules and cushion materials composed of stainless steel fibers are combined and packed in the chemical chamber of the gas generator for the air bag of automobiles. At this time, the packing amount of the cushion materials 2 is made 0.05cm<3> or more with respect to the packing amount 1cm<3> of the solid gas generating agents 1. The temperature of the chemical chamber at which the gas generating agents 1 decompose is estimated to be 1000 deg.C or more in general, and therefore the air bag will be thermally broken down unless the gas is cooled. Hence, the gas is passed through wire netting laminates 3, 4, so that it is cooled. The cushion materials 2 are also effective as cooling material. |
