The metal shelving unit uses two types of interconnectable sections. The uprights (1) have a C-shaped cross section and are produced by bending flat rolled sections. The front side of each upright has two rows of apertures (2) positioned on two vertical parallel lines. The apertures can be side by side or in staggered formation. An angled plate (3) is clamped to the uprights and has an L-shaped cross section. One side has eyelets punched in it which protrude inside the angled plate and are spaced along the same lengthwise line as the apertures on the C-shaped uprights. The apertures have a trapezoidal periphery and form a bottom holding tooth.
