PURPOSE:To obtain a soft vinyl chloride resin excellent in cold resistance, adhesiveness, and moldability and processability and useful as sheet material, by the graft polymerization of an alkyl (meth)acrylate to vinyl chloride resin in the presence of acrylonitrile. CONSTITUTION:The graft polymerization of 35-900pts.wt. of an alkyl (meth)- acrylate having a second-order transition point of -10 deg.C or less, such as ethyl acrylate, n-propyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexy acrylate, or lauryl methacylate, to 100pts.wt. of vinyl chloride resin in the presence of 2-50pts.wt. of acrylonitrile is carried out. Thus, a soft vinyl chloride resin having improved properties and processability as well as a well-balanced 100% modulus value and tensile strength. |
