Rings of resilient plastics for document file - have ends which hook together and are riveted to file

A document file has filing rings made from resilient plastics strip. The strip (1) has a hook (3) formed at one end which passes over a small projection (7) at the opposite end and then engages the sloping edge (6) of a slot (4) and so forms a circle. The strip (1) is attached to the spine of the file by a rivet which passes through a hole (11) in the middle of the strip. The width of the strip (1) is increased locally around the edge of this central hole (11). This type of plastics is less likely to damage the documents around the filing holes.
