The battery fitting device includes a holder moulded in the form of a plate-shaped member. The holder is formed with a bore in which the buttom-shaped battery is accommodated. A casing in the electronic appliance includes a holder accommodating cavity in which the holder with the button shaped battery fitted to it is accommodated. The casing is provided with contact leaf springs which are disposed in parallel with opposing walls of the holder accommodating cavity. When the device is employed for an electronic appliance, the battery accommodated in the cavity of the battery case is firmly clamped between the contact leaf springs.
