PURPOSE:To improve the raw stock preservability of a copying material and form a stable image fit for long-term preservation by placing a photosensitive and thermosensitive layer containing an organic tellurium compound, a photoreducing agent, cyclodextrin and a binder on a support. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of an organic tellurium compound and a binder is prepared. A photoreducing agent such as naphthoquinone which absorbs H2 from the binder, etc. and shows reducing action when irradiated with light and cyclodextrin are dissolved in a mixture of water and alcohol optionally together with a hydrogen donor such as triethanolamine triacetate donating H2 to the agent. This solution is mixed with the above-mentioned solution, coated onto support 1 such as polyester film, and dried to form photosensitive and thermosensitive layer 2. Original 3 is contacted to layer 2, irradiated with light, and passed between two heated rollers to develop unexposed portion 6 and exposed portion 7 in layer 2 corresponding to image portion 4 and non-image portion 5 of original 3. The cyclodextrin encloses the photoreducing agent, and the tellurium compound is not reduced until being heated, resulting in improved raw stock preservability. |
