<p>The carburettor has a throttle which is opened for starting by a linkage from a shaft (3). There is also a starting throttle (11) which is closed to enrich the mixture for starting. The shaft is turned by a lever (5) which is moved by a hand control (6). A bimetal coil (14) round the shaft moves a lever (15) which opens the starting throttle when normal running temperature is reached. The starting throttle is closed by a lever (19) connected to the shaft by a freewheel mechanism (17, 18, 16). This ensures that when the starting handle is released the main throttle closes but the starting throttle remains in the starting position.</p> |
