摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To increase the charging efficiency of a battery for a dual mode vehicle by providing charging current control means for controlling the charging current of the battery in the vehicle to automatically charge the battery in response to the residual capacity of the battery. CONSTITUTION:This battery charge controller consists of charging current setting means 9 for flowing a preset current Is in a battery 8 at charging time, charging current detecting means 10 for detecting the charging current Ix supplied to the battery 8 to produce a signal responsive to the detected current and charging current control means 11 for controlling the charging current to the battery 8 to become a relationship of Ix=Is. When the battery starts charging to flow the charging current Ix in the battery, the increasing rate of the charging current through a charging current detector circuit 10b is decreased. When the charging current Ix is thus retained at set value Is, it maintains its state. As the battery 8 is charged increasingly, the charging current Ix is reduced. When the battery is substantially fully charged, a charging current detector circuit 10b produces a charge end signal S to stop charging of the battery. Thus, the battery can be automatically efficiently charged.</p>
