The collapsible crate comprises a bottom, two side walls and two end walls, the latter folding inwards between the side walls, whole one or both of the side walls fold over the bottom. Two or more walls hinge on a rectangular frame by suitable fittings, which are formed by bent over wall edges to produce chambers through which pass round frame bars. Bth side walls higher on the bottom along their lower edges. - The frame (1) is formed by a closed righ at the top edges of the walls (4-7). The fitting are continuous edge-reinforcing strips (11, 12), bent round inside themselves and each extending for the whole length of a wall to form a continuous chamber each accommodating one side of the frame.
