摘要 <p>1292123 Locks ESSEX INTERNATIONAL Inc 4 Nov 1969 [4 Nov 1968 19 Aug 1969] 54014/69 Heading E2A The latch bolts of vehicle doors are locked and unlocked by reversible electric motors 55, 55a which may be controlled from inside or outside the vehicle and which may be over-ridden by manual control when necessary. This is achieved by inserting into the links 32, 36 connected to the lock-barrel 30 and the sill-button 35, switches 67, 72 which are responsive to tension or compression to activate a control circuit, Fig. 7, which energises all the motors in parallel in the locking or unlocking direction. The latching assembly 4 is of known construction having a rotatable latch-bolt 6 restrained by detent 9 which is disengageable by a lever 10 which may be rocked by the inside handle 15, or by another linkage from a push-button 16 in the outside handle 17 of the front door 2. Each of the four vehicle doors may be unlatched manually from inside by handles 15, 44, or from outside by means of push-buttons 16, 41. The front doors may be locked or unlocked by using a key in locks 30, and all the doors may be locked or unlocked from inside by means of sill-buttons 35, 48. The motorised locking and unlocking function acts on all four doors at once when their energisation is initiated by additional pressure on the front sill-button 35 or the lock 30. The switches 67, 72 which initiate the motor operation are situated in the push-pull rods 36, 32 connected to the sill-bottom and the lock, these rods being interrupted and their end-portions sliding in a guide tube 76, Fig. 6, with lost motion. The electrical switching is accomplished by pads 82, 88 of synthetic rubber filled with metal particles which make mutual contact when the pad is compressed. Compressive force on the rod 65 renders pad 82 conductive, and tension renders pad 88 conductive, the pin 79 serving to apply the necessary pressure. Each motor operates the lock through a pivoted quadrant 63. The sense of energisation of the motors is controlled by relays 100, 101, Fig. 7, and the time of energisation is limited to about a second by the charging of a condenser 105 through transistor T.</p>
