PURPOSE:To enable the even coating of release liquid on a fixing roller by coating the same through a heat pipe sealed with working fluid. CONSTITUTION:Working fluid such as water or alcohol is held sealed within the cylinder 1 of a heat pipe made of metals of good heat cnductivity and the outside peripheral surface of the cylinder 1 is covered with an elastic material layer 3 for preventing offset. The release liquid coating roller formed in this way makes close contact with the peripheral surface of, e.g., a heat roller 4 being a fixing roller. By receiving the heat thereof, the working fluid 2 gasifies and the peripheral surface of the coating roller is evened in a short time. Hence, the release liquid supplied through capillarity by way of a felt 15 is sufficiently spread on the coating roller surface and may therefore be evenly coated on the roller 4. In case the fixing roller is a high-pressure roller, the same effect may be obtained by heating the coating roller. |
