An educational game allows abstract mathematical concepts to be observed such as the theory of groups. It also allows construction of a family tree. A control box allows the information to be displayed on a TV screen. A control box is connected to a television set to enable a family tree to be drawn on the screen by pressing a particular key. The tree has a number of compartments in which a number of moving elements can be placed to form the names of the ancestors. This is effected by other keys which correspond to particular algebraic symbols and letters. By a grouping process the names of male or female ancestors can be displayed.
