The rotary piston compressor is particularly intended for the air-conditioning system of a motor vehicle. It comprises a housing (1, 2, 3) of which one end wall (2) contains an outlet (17) and an inlet (16) for the oil-carrying gaseous medium. A piston (5) forms working chambers with cyclically varying volume in the housing and is rotatably carried on a drive shaft (4) in a bearing (40) in the end wall (2). The inlet is at least approximately co-axial with the shaft (4) and connects with a passage extending through the bearing (40) and/or with ducts (41, 42, 43) in the shaft (4) extending through the rotor bearing on this shaft.
