Polyether dis:azo dyestuffs - useful for dyeing and printing synthetic fibres, esp. aromatic polyester(s) and cellulose ester(s)

Disazo dyestuffs of formula (I) are new: In (I) D is H, alkyl and >=1 is -(E-O)n-R; E is alkylene; R is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or acyl; n is 3-7; m is 1 or 2; 1 is 0 or 1; the above radicals and rings A, B, and C (which are opt. naphthalene rings) may be substd. by conventional nonionic gps. used in azo dyestuffs and or CO2H. (I) are esp. useful for dyeing and printing synthetic fibres (esp. aromatic polyesters and cellulose esters) on which they produce dyeings with good general fastness properties (esp. to sublimation, washing, and light). Compsns. contg. (I) (which contain no SO3H or NH4 gps.) have very high solubility in H2O and need no dispersing agents, protective colloids, levelling agents, and carriers.
