PURPOSE:To prevent attachment of excess developer by controlling the light illumination area of blank exposure means by original size detecting means. CONSTITUTION:Blanc exposure lamp section 14 provided with controlling plates 26-31 and lamps 251-255 is installed in exposure station 12, and connected to copying material indicating part 34 and original size and position indicating part 35 of the operating section in an exposure area controlling device. By this means, designating buttons 361, 362 of copying material size 36 in copying material indicating part 34; designating buttons 371 and 372 of original size botton 37 in original size and position indicating part 35; and designating buttons 381 and 382 in original position indicating part 38 for indicating the exposure position of the original on original platen glass 2 are selectively pushed, resulting in lighting lamps 251-255 selectively in accordance with the effective exposure area of the original selectively indicated. The exposued image of the only necessary part of the original is formed on the blank part of the copying material when original size is smaller than the copying material size, and on the photoreceptor when larger, and in each case attachment of the developer to the area except the image is prevented. |
