PURPOSE:To remove residual toner perfectly by irradiating the surface of a photoreceptor in contact with a magnetic brush by light. CONSTITUTION:Destaticizing lamp 21 for erasing charge of the photoreceptor of rotary drum 8 is arranged above the photoreceptor surface located along drum 8 upstream in drum rotation direction 10 from the position of the surface in contact with a magnetic bruch formed around sleeve 18 of cleaner 14. After charging by corona discharger 12, exposure by optical system 26, and development by developing unit is finished, in cleaning drum 8 of the residual toner, the photoreceptor surface in contact with the magnetic brush is irradiated positively by lighting lamp 21, permitting the residual charge on the photoreceptor surface to be removed, an attraction force due to charge to disappear, the residual toner to be transferred to cleaner 14 by attraction of the magnetic brush, and thus, perfect cleaning to be attained. |
