The cloth is first stretched longitudinally between the longitudinal end of the frame (1) and the cylinder (3), and then widthways, the cloth being fastened to the two rails (5). Next, the whole of the cloth is pressed upwards by the platform (15) and stuck to the underside of the stretcher members (2). Finally the cloth is cut along the outline of the stretcher members. In this way cloths are obtained which are evenly stretched for screen-printing purposes. <IMAGE>
