<p>Stomach rinsing agent consisting of liq. polyethylene glycol (I), pref. of mol. wt. 200-600, esp. 300-500, is new. (Ie are already known for removing poisons from the skin. They are more effective than e.g. paraffin oil and can be successfully used even when the stomach cannot be further cleaned with other rinsing agents. Removal of poisons by a gastroscope or by surgery is thus not necesary. (I) have very low toxicity e.g. LD50 in guinea pigs is 15.8 cc/kg.</p> |
