PURPOSE:To prevent discharging of styli and acheive higher image quality by detecting the discontinuous point with the adjoining image signals in the image signal row, generating the staircase voltage having the potential differences within the stylus line discharge voltage if discontinuous and applying the same to each stylus. CONSTITUTION:The voltage distribution of the styli of the electrostatic recorder having multistylus electrodes becomes as shown in figure and in the position on the white bit side of the change point where white signal becomes black signal or conversely black signal becomes white signal, the potential differences of the range where they do not exceed the line discharge voltage are applied in a staircase manner and in the black signal bit position, sufficient voltage necessary for latent image formation is applied, so that other white signals become OV. Then, the stains of background may be eliminated and the images of good contrast obtained. |
