A hose clamp with two relatively rotating flat rings (1, 2) held together by a series of springs and by interlocking ratchet teeth (6). The springs are set tangentially to the central bore of the concentric rings and press into the bore when the rings are twisted relative to each other. The springs provide tangential pressure onto the outside of the hose, evenly around the hose. A compact hose clamp is provided, secured by hand twisting the rings together, or by using tensional tools gripping holes spaced around the rings.
