A dispenser for fluent materials includes an elongate barrel (1) for receiving a cartridge (5) of a fluent substance, a nozzle assembly (3) for connection at a front end of the barrel (1) and a pressurising assembly (2) supported on the dispenser. The pressurising assembly (2) includes a housing for receiving a capsule of liquefied or pressurised gas, pressure adjusting means, a first fluid path extending from one side of the pressure adjusting means for communicating with the outlet of a capsule inserted, in use, in the housing, and a second fluid path extending from the other side of the pressure adjusting means into the rear end of the barrel.
