A protecting cct. for reducing the overvoltage and overcurrent generated by deflection windings is included in the deflection amplifier(70), and the cct. had a capacitor(69) for obtaining parabolic voltage waveform proportioning to scanning current passing through the deflection windings and a resistor(25) for coupling the parabolic voltage to the oscillator(10) so that the parabolic voltage is overlapped on the DC operating voltage(V2) of the oscillator(10) to change pezk amplitude of the scanning current.
