Moulded shoe heels externally decorated by prefabricated inserts - using hollow insert forms which completely mask the sides of the heel

Parent patent described moulded shoe heels decorated by incorporating a prefabricated insert which covered most of the depth of the heel but left the edge of the sole of the heel exposed. This addition describes use of hollow inserts which cover the full depth of the face of the heel. The modified insert avoids exposure on the side of the heel of a joint between the heel wall and heel sole, and the emphasis of any uneven wear of a relatively thin exposed layer of sole material of contrasting colour.
