The system consists of a loop of buoyant material which surrounds the vessel. The loop may then be anchored to the sea bed. The loop may be dropped from an aircraft or helicopter in stages with the components joined together by lines. The line may be weighed to maintain it below the surface and reinforced where it will be in contact with the bow. The system may be used to tow the vessel to safety after separating from the anchors.
