A clamp for holding the mitred joint of a picture frame consists of two metal blocks (10, 12). A block (10, 12) is secured by a screw-nail (36) to each of the joint members (40, 42). A bolt (14) with a hexagonal head is pushed through the clearance hole in the block (10) and retained by a spring ring (20). The threaded end of the bolt (14) is screwed into the tapped hole in the block (12) and pulls the two blocks (10, 12) together and in so doing clamps the frame members (40, 42). A guide bar fixed to one of the blocks (10) and sliding in a groove in the other block (12) ensures the correct alignment of the joint.
|
