PURPOSE:To prevent explosion accident before it occurs by cooling the exhaust gas containing combustible components produced from a converter or the like then continuously analyzing the gas and jetting water into the exhaust gas treating apparatus and introducing inert gas therein when the composition thereof reaches the explosion limit. CONSTITUTION:The CO-contained exhaust gas produced from a converter 1 is passed through a cooler 2, a primary dust collector 5 and a secondary dust collector 6 and is selectively exhausted into a chimney 9 by an induction fan 7 or into a recovery system 10 by a damper 8. At this time, the CO and O2 in the exhaust gas are continuously analyzed by the high speed gas sampling unit 11 provided to the cooler 2. When the exhaust gas composition reaches the explostion limit value, immediately the open signal is sent to multiple water-jetting valves 12 and inert-gas spouting valve 13. The extinction of the gas firing source through the jetting-out of water and the decrease in CO density through the introduction of inert gas prevent the explosion of the gas. |
