The heat exchanger is particularly for compressed air delivered by a compressor to a distribution mains etc. It has a closed vessel with one or more closed treated medium chambers inside, and an inlet and outlet for the medium. It has a heat-transfer pipe (23) closed at the end and filled with a heat-transfer medium, particularly liquid. A part(28) of this pipe is inside the chamber(13) where the medium flow through it, while another part(29) is outside, where it exchanges heat with the exchange medium. Next to the treated medium chamber in the vessel may be arranged a further chamber for exchange purposes, through which may pass the heat-transfer pipe.
