PURPOSE:To provide steel material for comentation featured by a short cementation time, a small internal hardness, thermal strain, and an excellent cutting property after cementation and quenching, by adding a specific element to steel for cementation used for gear and antifriction bearing. CONSTITUTION:A cement steel includes C: 0.26-0.33%, Si: 0.50-1.50%, Mn: 0.50-1.50%, Cr: 0.5-1.50%, Al: 0.02-0.05%, 0<0.0025%, A cement steel may further include either (A) Mo: 0.05-0.30%, or (B) one or two of Nb, V, and Ti, each less than 0.15% or may contain both (A) and (B). A cement steel in the range of above composition reduces cementing time, increases neigher internal hardness nor thermal strain after cementation and quenching, and provides an excellent cutting property. |
