One half (3) of the coupling, in the form of a ratchet part, is firmly connected to a hub (1) and spring-loaded in the direction of the other half (2) of the coupling, in the form of a thrust flange, which is rotatable relative to the hub. In the engaged condition, rollers (6) mounted in the thrust flange (2) rest in roller pockets in the ratchet part and, in the disengaged condition, revolve on the circular track (8) associated with the roller pocket until they reengage after 360 DEG . A common track (8) for at least four rollers (6) is provided, the rollers being guided by the thrust flange (2) and being supported directly without bearing journals and the pockets being arranged asymmetrically in such a way that, during the disengaged condition, there are always at least three rollers rolling or supported on the track (8). With such a coupling, a driven element is loaded only up to a fixed limiting torque and, after release of the safety detent coupling, reengagement of the two separated parts in the same relative angular position can be achieved. <IMAGE>
