Electropneumatic drilling and chiselling hammer having an energising piston (11) which carries a sealing ring (12) arranged in a groove (11a) in order to seal off the air cushion. The groove (11a) is defined on the air-cushion side by a releasable retaining flange (13). When the percussion piston (20) is removed, the sealing ring (12) at the energising piston (11) can thus be replaced through the cylinder (10) after release of the retaining flange (13) without it being necessary to dismantle the percussion drive. <IMAGE>
