<p>The device includes an electro- magnetic solenoid (2) connectible via a make and break switch (3a) to a source of electricity, and a pair of spaced co-operating fingers (4) operated by the solenoid (2) for relative movement towards one another. When the solenoid is energised, the fingers grip the mat therebetween to brake rotary movement of the mat and thereby of any record whilst the turntable continues to rotate. <IMAGE></p> |
