In the erection of a form for in-situ casting of a concrete base slab for a building with the use of plate- shaped, heat-insulating so-called plinth elements 6, which must be left around the finished base slab 15, the plinth elements are erected and aligned on a wide, strand- like bed of pre-mixed dry cement, whereupon they, at their mutually abutting ends, by means of joint-bridging connecting members penetrating into the elements, are mutually fixed in position close to their top edges to form a free-standing form wall. Through the supply of further dry mix on both sides of the form wall, the bed is built upon to enclose the lower edge sections of the plinth elements, after which the dry mix is wetted and left for a while to bond to a continuous lower edge beam 9 which binds and holds together the plinth elements. Once this edge beam has at least partially bonded, a series of rigid bars 10 are fixed by means of gully- shaped clamps 11 against the outside of the plinth elements to form a reinforcement, which runs around the top edge of the whole of the form space and against which simple ground stays 13 for the external underpinning of the form wall are placed. Following completion of the casting, the clamps are removed first, before the concrete has hardened, followed by the ground stays and the edge-reinforcement bars, once the form wall support which they formed is no longer needed. <IMAGE> |
