PURPOSE:To prevent an expensive stylus from damaging by preventing the stylus from lowering even if a play start button is operated with no disk mounted, by detecting whether the disk is mounted on a turntable or not. CONSTITUTION:Turn table 11 where a disk is mounted is turned by motor 12 through pulley 13 and motor belt 14. Movable arm 15 has incorporated cartridge 16 for a recording signal pickup with a detection stylus picking up a signal recorded on the disk surface, and moves on table 11 by a driving force transmission mechanism transferring the rotation of table 11. Arm 15 has built-in disk mount detection element 17 provided opposing to the surface of table 11 and on the side of table 11, one auxiliary disk-mount detection element 18 is provided at a position opposite to detection element 17 when arm 15 reaches a play start position, so that the both will detect whether the disk is mounted on table 11 or not. |
