<p>Water-based forging lubricants contain (a) an adipate salt formed from adipic acid and an alkali(ne earth) metal hydroxide in amts. corresp. to 1-35% and 0.5-19% respectively, based on the wt. of the lubricant, and (b) 0.1-10 wt.% of >=1 conventional additives selected from organic thickeners, wetting agents, suspending agents, germicides, foam regulators, EP additives, pigments, corrosion inhibitors, dyes and perfumes. Adipate salts have better high-temp. stability and wetting properties than azelate salts.</p> |
